    SPANISH 7TH GRADE 2021-2022 (CLASS OF 2027)  

    1. Introduce oneself and greet someone.
    2. Talk about the weather, days of the week, months of the year and colors.
    3. Say numbers and letters and comprehend numbers and letters in spoken Spanish.
    4. Tell time and talk about school items.
    5. Identify common infinitives and cognates.
    6. Recognize music, holidays, and traditions of the spanish-speaking world.
    7. Say what one likes to do and comprehend others talking about likes and dislikes.



    SPANISH 8th GRADE 2021-2022 (CLASS OF 2026) 

    1. Say one’s class schedule in Spanish, give an opinion of classes, report who teaches classes, and report the quantity of homework in each class

    2. communicate where things are located.

    3. Ask and answer events in one’s life and the lives of others using regular AR verbs.

    4.  Read and demonstrate comprehension of a present tense novel.

    5.  Recognize music, art, holidays, and traditions of the spanish-speaking world.

     

    SPANISH I  2021-2022  (CLASS OF 2025)

    1. Communicate what people do by conjugating regular and irregular verbs in the present tense.
    2. Interpret a native speaker speaking on level appropriate topics.
    3. Communicate where people go and for what purpose.
    4. Say and write what one is going to do and what others are going to do.
    5. Explain important days in Mexican history and culture.
    6. Recognize music, art, and traditions in the Spanish - speaking world.
    7. Read two short novels in Spanish and demonstrate comprehension.
    8. Talk about family members.
    9. Describe someone’s physical appearance.
    10. Manage a restaurant experience using necessary phrases.

    SPANISH II  2021-2022  (CLASS OF 2024)

    1. Manage a restaurant experience using necessary phrases. 
    2. Communicate with house vocabulary and community vocabulary.
    3. Refer to objects and people with direct and indirect object pronouns and interpret these pronouns in spoken and written Spanish.
    4. Express actions in progress… what people are doing at this moment.
    5. Express what one did and others did in the past by conjugating regular and irregular verbs in the preterit.
    6. Command a child or a friend to do things.
    7. Use reflexive verbs to explain one’s daily routine.
    8. Read two short novels in Spanish and demonstrate comprehension.
    9. Recognize music, art, and traditions in the Spanish - speaking world.

     

    SPANISH III  2021-2022  (CLASS OF 2023)

      1. communicate about relationships
      2. Communicate what used to be and what people used to do by using the imperfect.
      3. Express what one was doing and what others were doing by using verbs in the imperfect.
      4. Use imperfect to set the scene for a story.
      5. Express what people have done by using the present perfect. 
      6. Express desires, recommendations and emotion by using the subjunctive mood.
      7. Express what people will do by using the future tense.
      8. Read a short story and write an analysis about a story.
      9. Meet a local person from the Latino culture and display their story in a visual to be on display in the hallway or classroom.
      10. Role - play the lives of people living in Mexican history and speak about a topic in Mexican history.

     

     

     

    SPANISH IV 2021-2022  (CLASS OF 2022)

      1. Communicate with advanced uses of the subjunctive
      2. Express what has happened by using the present perfect tense and the present perfect of the subjunctive
      3. Communicate what one would do or what one would have done in various situations
      4. Analyze an area of crisis in the Spanish speaking world and explain strategies to solve the crisis
      5. Improve oral communication skills and speak at length on various topics
      6. Demonstrate comprehension of short films, short stories and poems

     

    • Express what people have done by using the present perfect.  (Not done in Spanish III)
    •  Express recommendations and emotion by using the subjunctive mood.  (Not done in Spanish III)
    • Express what people will do by using the future tense. (Not done in Spanish III)

     

     

    *outcomes in bold were not done in Spanish III due to loss of days due to COVID 19.  These things must be done first in Spanish IV for the class of 2022
