13th Annual Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarships:
Sports and Orthopaedic Specialists, part of Allina Health is proud to continue its effort to advance sports medicine and orthopaedic care throughout Minnesota with the 13th Annual Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine scholarship for student athletes. Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists and in partnership with Allina Health, will be offering two $2,500 scholarships, which will be awarded annually to one female and one male student athlete who intends to attend college to pursue a career in sports medicine. 2020 Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship:
Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists and Allina Health are proud to present the 13th annual MinnesotaAthletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship. Two $2,500.00 scholarships are available and will be awarded to one male and one female graduating high school student athlete who intend to pursue a professional career in sports medicine. Sports & Orthopaedic Specialists & Allina Health Minnesota Athletes in Sports Medicine Scholarship criteria:
1. Graduating high school senior from the state of Minnesota.
2. Planning on attending a four-year college or university within the United States.
3. Involved in an interscholastic sport each of their 4 years in high school.
4. Intending to major in a field related to sports medicine.
5. Application Deadline: Must be post marked by February 17th, 2020.
The MAFMIC Scholarship will be presented to Minnesota High School graduating seniors. Applicant must be a resident of Minnesota. Applicant must be the son or daughter of a parent or legal guardian who is a policyholder from a qualifying mutual insurance company (MAFMIC Member Company). Applications must be submitted to the MAFMIC office through a qualified mutual member company. If you apply through an agency please let us know what MAFMIC mutual your agency writes with. Applicant must be graduating from a Minnesota high school. Applicant must have an accumulative grade point average of 2.5 for high school. A certified copy of the high school transcript must be included with the application. Applicant must be beginning their post-secondary education (college, vocational school or community college) for the first time in the fall following high school graduation. Applicant must have been accepted to a post-secondary education facility (i.e. accredited college, university or technical school). Applicant must submit a typed essay to the topic listed on the application.
All applications must be postmarked on or before March 13th in the year of issue qualify. If you are interested in a printed out copy of the application, please stop by the HS office to pick one up.
West Central Smiles Scholarship:
Two $500.00 Scholarships Awarded must be a high school senior graduating in the spring of this school year. Strong leadership roles, not necessarily high GPA. Renville-Sibley Cooperative Power Scholarships to be Awarded:
Renville-Sibley Cooperative Power Association will be offering a total of $5,000 in scholarship money to students in this region. Renville-Sibley is allocated a $1,000 scholarship from Basin Electric to be awarded at the discretion of the cooperative. Another $1,000 scholarship is from Renville-Sibley. A committee of Renville-Sibley Board members, as well as an employee of the cooperative, will select the recipients of the $1,000 Basin Scholarship and the $1,000 Renville- Sibley Scholarship. These scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of SAT/ACT scores and overall grade point average, work experiences, participation in school and community activities, the personal statement of career goals and the written recommendation by a third party. Additional consideration will be given to applicants interested in a position related to the electric industry for the Renville-Sibley scholarship. The remaining three - $1,000 scholarships will be distributed from uncashed capital credit checks and is awarded by a random drawing at the annual meeting from the remaining completed applications. All scholarship applicants must be U.S. citizens and a dependent of a member of Renville-Sibley Cooperative. They must be a high school senior who plans to enroll as a full-time student in an undergraduate course of study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or vocational/technical school. Renville Lions Club Scholarship:
Student Scholarship Application is available and they are awarding up to 4 - $750.00 scholarships to graduating seniors from the Renville area who shares our belief in community service and wishes to incorporate this belief into their future public or private lives. Recipients will be selected based on leadership characteristics and community involvement. Scholarships will be awarded upon the start of the second semester/quarter the student is registered. Application Deadline is April 30th, if you are interested in an application, please stop by the office to pick one up.
Minnesota Valley Cooperative Light & Power Association: Sophomores & Juniors – 2020 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour – Minnesota Valley R.E.C. will be sponsoring a trip to Washington, D.C. for the 2020 Electric Cooperative Youth Tour for one area youth who is currently a sophomore or junior in high school. More information has been emailed to 10th and 11th grades. If you are interested in an application, please stop by the High School office.
