  • Hello Kindergarten Families!

    Welcome to RCW and thanks for checking in. I graduated from RCW and am thrilled to be back in Jaguar Country! I received my bachelor's degree from SDSU and my master's degree from Hamline University. This is my 10th year of teaching, but sixth year here at RCW. Previously, I taught preschool and ELL. I am so happy to be a part of your child's learning journey and look forward to a wonderful year learning with the Class of 2034!

    Print the file to play Snow Day BINGO. 

    Bring your board back to school with a 5-in-a-row BINGO colored and a parents signature and you will receive a special treat!

    If you are unable to print your BINGO card, write down the activities you did and have your parents sign your paper.

  • Essential standards are the standards we focus on, but they are not the ONLY things we learn in kindergarten. We present the standards to our students using "I can" statements. Please see below for our essential standards.

    English Lanague Arts

    I can ask and answer questions about key details in a text. 

    I can retell familiar stories, including key details. 

    I can identify characters, settings, and major events in a story. 

    I can describe the relationship between illustrations and the story in which they appear.

    I can demonstrate understanding of the organization and basic features of print. 

    I can follow words from left to right, top to bottom, and page by page.

    I can recognize that spoken words are represented in written langage by specific sequences of letters.

    I can understand that words are separated by spaces in print.

    I can recognize and name all upper and lowercase letters of the alphabet. 

     

     Math

    I can recognize that a number is used to show how many.

    I can read, write, and represent numbers 0-31.

    I can count forwards and backwards from 0-20.

    I can find one more and one less.

    I can compare and order numbers 0-20.

    I can create and extend patterns.

    I can recognize 2D and 3D shapes.
